You are wrong MOST of my knowledge on Mary comes from the Bible. Not the historicity but the spiritual role that Luke and John conveyed in their texts. Mary as the new Eve, The Ark of the covenant, Typology of Israel archetype the Church etc. Those concepts become obvious with a serious study of those texts. The appreciation of her role developed with the life of the church. Mark didnt say much, Mathew a little more then Luke and John said alot not in long texts but in VERY meaningful texts
