Paper currency and gold serve the same purpose. They are used as a medium of exchange. That’s the definition of money. Problem is…the more paper currency there is, the less value people place on it. It takes more paper money to buy the same product (inflation). That’s why gold is so important. Unless you wanna go dig it up you can’t make more of it.
The real power comes from the ability to manipulate the amount of money. Inflation has no effect on the counterfeiter.
