Mongolia’s Former Communist Party MPRP Pulled the Rug Under Elbegdorj’s Government

Mongolia’s former communist party Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party (MPRP) announced that it has quit the grand coalition. The grand coalition of Motherland- Democracy Coalition and MPRP was formed in 2004 following the parliamentary elections where the two major coalition and the party in Mongolia took almost 50, 50% seats.
This was the first coalition that had to unite the two contradictory political powers in Mongolia where democrats has to work with former communists at the same government cabinet. There was no other exit because of the equal winning at the parliament. The only person who can lead this coalition was Elbegdorj Tsakhia who was one of the leaders that brought democracy to Mongolia, first democratic country in Central Asia.
Prime Minister Elbegdorj Tsakhia’s policy was to fight against poverty, corruption, grow the economy, and to have free trade with as many countries as possible. Elbegdorj Tsakhia’s appeal to fight against corruption made Mongolia’s Customs Director Baatar to be arrested on the spot of corruption with $ 500,000 cash in his pocket. Baatar talked about Ch. Ulaan, the Deputy Prime Minister, member and one of leaders of MPRP is his key connection in the corruption net. All the corruption and proceedings of the MPRP former communist party has become unfolded in front of public eyes through newspapers in Mongolia with facts.
Some newspapers had already referred to the President of Mongolia Nambariin Enkhbayar, former chairman of the MPRP as the godfather of corruption. Now Nambar Enkhbayar’s key puppet Miyegombiin Enkhbold, new MPRP chairman wants to become the prime minister of Mongolia. When Miyegombiin Enkhbold was the governor of the capital city Ulaanbaatar last 7 years, he made the city filled with carbon monoxide on dangerous level, turned the city into total chaos of buildings, traffic jams and dangerous place to live in.
Mongolia, first successful Central Asian democratic country with free market economy which was praised by George W.Bush during his 11/21/05 visit is on the brink of turning into total mud if the Parliament decides to pull down the Elbegdorj Tsakhia’s government at the Parliament’s Session of 1/12/06.
