Why do popular websites, like Drudge Report, and Prison Planet, simply post links to mainstream news sources?
The news business has become like the music business, so fragmented into increasingly narrow interest categories it almost makes no sense anymore. A major story involving multiple loss of lives will go unreported if it’s too politically incorrect, while such pigfeed as Paris Hiltons latest misadventure or some semi-literate jock’s outrageous NBA salary will be on every tube in the nation for days. So who really cares, we only listen to what we want to hear now.
