Like Big Brother, U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft is waging war on political dissent.
The report on FBI surveillance activities, regarding anti-war rallies in Washington and San Francisco (first, reported by The New York Times), surprises few anti-war activists, especially free speech supporters who knew AshcroftÂ?s drafting of the Patriot Act would be most effective in possible protest intimidation. What is troubling is the timing of the actions, particularly when the majority of Americans now doubt President BushÂ?s policy of preemption. AshcroftÂ?s sanction of such surveillance does more than simple attempts to diminish the opposition activities, rather the use of Gestapo Â?secret filesÂ? to gather information to eventually Â?silenceÂ? the opposition itself.
The confidential memorandum to law enforcement detailing its surveillance recommendations leaves open the most troubling conclusion.
Political desperation.
As Presidential Advisor Karl Rove indicated to other White House political operatives earlier in the year, President BushÂ?s standing among likely voters was due to fall to lower levels due to the stagnant economy and (possibly) the outcome of the Iraq conflict. That being said, with the economy still making little headway and security in Iraq disintegrating, concern of political instability taking hold amongst mainstream Americans has been raised to new levels. And in the light of new terror attacks in Turkey overseas and unknown international terror infiltration here at home, Attorney General John Ashcroft has made it his mission to infiltrate domestic opposition as a precautionary measure.
The only problem is, as Saddam Hussein was to Osama bin Laden, again the Bush administration is using scapegoat tactics to conceal the lack of information on true domestic terror threats.
The scapegoat technique will do little to alleviate AmericanÂ?s fears if there is another terrorist attack on U.S. soil, especially one as devastating as September 11th. Besides that, in the year 2003, we are firmly in Â?the Bush era.Â? Karl Rove and his ilk cannot portray the poor military execution of the al Qaeda threat as a Â?Clinton legacy.Â? With a Republican House and Senate, President Bush has no excuses (those ran out with the Iraq war began).
With FBI now snooping on protestors, there actually may be some advantages for opposition leaders. With files and dossiers now being collected on groups such as ANSWER (Act Now To End War And Racism) and IndyMedia (an alternative news collective), groups may be able to petition for access to their files and the scope of any intelligence-gathering programs they may be listed under in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act. On a more cynical note, many of these groups would welcome new recruits to bolster such as a grassroots movement of people seeking an end of violence through peaceful means and government reform (even those paid for by Uncle Sam).
If Bush and Ashcroft are serious about attempts to reign in domestic terror threats, the FBI should be used to interview and help gather information on state militias and separatist groups which have not debated in their clandestine activities, since Tim McVeigh and the Oklahoma City bombing in Â?95. It is worthy to note that the Bush administration has made few comments about this movement, even though these groups, such as the Church of the Creator and Ku Klux Klan have large web presences and active fundraising organizations.
Whether or not FBI surveillance will extend as a national policy amongst local law enforcement remains to be seen, but an earlier precedent was set last February when Denver police finally agreed to stop police files on citizen protestors, including a nun.
In the end, the issue of surveillance is a Â?politicalÂ? issue which can be decided if the voters feel their tax money is being wasted (which it is) in the issuance of media backlash (which is already occurring). For both the public and private sectors, there is wholesale agreement that the basic right of freedom of speech may be affected, especially when the Patriot Act (trumpeted by Ashcroft) was sold as a method of deterring foreign terrorists within the country.
Clearly, there are better ways to support the patriotism of U.S. troops out in Iraq, Afghanistan, then a politically-malignant, indirect means to influence those patriots who wish those soldiers would come home soon and safe. Unfortunately for the President, bad press on this issue may it more difficult for him to be reelected in 2004 as he will need a moderate-conservative coalition to overcome an undoubtedly, strong Democratic candidate.
That being said, Bush has very little to fear from domestic protesters, simply wanting actual political inclusion in foreign policy. However, he does have to fear angry voters in the voting booth next November.
So far, he is doing little to change their minds.

How to Win Your Man Back in Order to Have a Making Up Relationship With You?
How to Win Your Man Back in order to have a making up relationship with you?
Did something go wrong between you and your man? If you were well on your way to being a happy couple and then fell off track somehow, don’t give up. You can win your man back.
Steps
Ask yourself these 4 questions: Is the matter important enough to warrant an argument? Is it appropriate to argue about the matter, or at this time? Can anything be changed, made different by prevailing in the argument? Is the issue worth arguing about? If you get a NO answer to any of these questions, there is no point in arguing. Sometimes realizing there is no benefit to arguing is enough to eliminate the temptation to argue. (A mnemonic for this is “not even worth talking to.”) No Use to Me.
Stop caring about how people perceive you. The fact is, it really doesn’t matter. It’s impossible to be yourself when you’re caught up in wondering “Do they think I’m funny? Does she think I’m fat? Do they think I’m stupid?” To be yourself, you’ve got to let go of these concerns and just let your behaviour flow, with only your consideration of others as a filter—not their consideration of you. Act like there is something more important you could be doing at the moment. Find something else to do or to care about: We care about things not by their absolute importance, but by their relative importance in our lives. If you find something else to take front stage in your life, then other things will naturally take the backstage.
Develop and express your individuality. Whether it’s your sense of style, or even your manner of speaking, if your preferred way of doing something strays from the mainstream, then be proud of it. Keep an emotional distance, too. Mentally take yourself out of the situation. Let it be somebody else’s problem. “That’s not my problem” I don’t know that’s not my problem?
Word Power: What you say and how you say it are two very important factors in exuding class. Always speak at a soft to moderate tone. A loud talker can seem too forceful and may make others feel intimidated. If you have nothing good to say then don’t say anything at all – take that to heart! Cursing is also inappropriate and is very unprofessional in a business setting. Speak calmly. This shows politeness. If you talk very loudly, it will seem that you’re desperate for attention.
Act as if the person bothering you was Non-Existent.
Never smile or laugh, this shows that you hear what the person is saying!!!
Behave. It’s fun to be in a party and dance a lot, but that’s not always classy behaviour. If you’re at a party, the classy behaviour is to socialize, but speak calmly, not monopolizing all the attention.
Smile. Classy people must always seem to be in a good mood. Show life goes on to different shit. Smiling. Learn to recognize when a discussion is no longer a discussion, but is escalating to an argument: Raised voices, flushed face or neck, hairs on the back of your neck stand up, feeling defensive. A good mutual discussion involves both sides listening and attempting to understand each other. Walk away from it not worth the arguing energy, it becomes irrelevant.
Analyse what happened and think about the reasons you still care, then think about the reasons why you shouldn’t care!!!! Avoid desperate behaviour like the plague. This is the kiss of death for the classy person. Only desperate times call for desperate measures. Take a deep breath, be strong, and move through the situation with elegance and grace. You will be the victor for it, no matter the outcome. Try not to listen too much to the content of what they’re saying back to you. Remember, they’re TRYING to push your buttons. Show them your better than them and you really cud care less about it! Say “that’s the thing” I don’t Feel anything it doesn’t have a significant purpose, reason or effect, well to me at least. Your loud, unimportant and your sweating me, like your on my heels.
Take some time to reflect on your own life. What improvements can be made? Be honest with yourself. Have you been selfish? Demanding? Argumentative? Angry? Jealous? Change your ways. Once you’ve figured out what you may have done wrong in the relationship, resist the urge to call the ex and show off your newfound self-realization. Actions speak louder than words. Just BE the new improved self, and word will spread.
Look and feel your best. Get your nails and hair done. Take a nice warm bubble bath, and pick out a nice outfit. Be sure of yourself. Assertiveness and self-confidence are naturally attractive to most people. Showing your guy you’re capable of being happy is appealing and brings a natural desire.
Anger, hurt and insecurity are the root of most insults. If you hurt someone, even unintentionally, they may respond with angry insults. Also, insecure people tend to call attention to the shortcomings of others (even if untrue) in order to cover up for their own perceived inadequacies. Don’t retaliate.
Walk away. If you’ve tried to figure out why this person is targeting you, and can find no reason, tried to joke with them to no avail, and they’re still bent on humiliating and insulting you, just leave. And until they pick a new target (and they will), avoid them. Laugh while you walk away showing that it’s not important to you at all.
Tips
Don’t keep coming back and don’t wait by making yourself available to him. You have a life, so live it! Some one else is out there right now waiting for a person like you. Don’t let your emotions get to you, because then he’ll win. Any performance that he gives is to catch your attention. So just smile and act like it doesn’t bother you if you see him making out with another girl. If your best efforts to take the wind out of their sails fail, warn others to expect random insults from that person.
Don’t take it personally. Some people are just mean. Mean people suck and have no true motives that concern me and everyone knows it. It’s them its not you.
Don’t insult them back. It just adds fuel to the fire. Keep a too positive attitude through everything; it looks like you don’t care about the whole situation. Don’t pass negative comments about what the person is saying, because that shows that you do, indeed, care?
If you’re asked why the guy/girl is acting like that toward you, say honestly that you don’t know. Doesn’t trash talk them to anyone? In that way, they look like (what they probably are) a loony freak, and you look like an innocent, injured person. If you have trouble ignoring drama, imagine you’re sitting in an airplane taking off, watching the cars and buildings get smaller and smaller. You are that small. You’re actually smaller. Your problem is only in your head. Imagine how small your head is compared to one of those cars.
Think about why others might be judging you. What must their lives be like? Are they envious of you, or even attracted to you? They might just hate you. Never mind these people; get them completely out of your life. Smirking, acting superior or completely ignoring them is probably not a good idea. Again, react with humour, it usually works best. If the insulter is just being nasty, then you can ignore them. Whatever you do, don’t act like it matters. This will make others think that you are willing to work with them, destroying any chance of being able to not care. It takes two or more to argue. By politely refusing to argue, you stay out of it. Don’t give a damn. Occupy yourself with something you enjoy; if you have a phone or Nintendo DS, play a game or write a message to someone. If you like to do crossword puzzles, do some. Go ahead!
Jealous people will try to bring you down to their level. Don’t let them. Remember you’ve got a lot going for you Period! In order for this to work, you MUST remain calm, cool and collected. Determine some activities you’ll do to help you to remain calm: my music and things that matter like my purposes. Smile! Frowning or looking timid will only draw more “non confidence” towards you. Smile at everyone you know or other friendly looking people. Remember you have just as much right to walk around as any other person. If you want them to know you are relaxed and carefree, glance every now and then at their eyes. Remember that happiness is the key to value. Enjoy your life as much as you can and make the best out of every situation. If you are truly happy, then other people won’t be able to bring you down with their judgements.
Finding happiness is the definition of success in life. Remember that the whole point of this article is to show others you are proud of yourself, and you don’t care what people perceive you as. You will gain high respect for being yourself and not trying to attach yourself to a group. People want a reaction. If you ignore them, they will realize it’s no fun to taunt and make fun of you. Show them you don’t care, and they’ll get the message. There is a difference between maintaining your inner-self and making a “reputation” for yourself. You don’t want be tacky and loud, argrumentative and miserable “SHOW PEOPLE WHO YOU ARE”, if they don’t like it, then who cares. Don’t go try to change yourself because a few people disapprove. Just smile as you walk by and just think if they are mean to me maybe they do it to make themselves feel better which means they’re pretty unhappy and of poor character.
Make fun of yourself in a humble and witty way to acknowledge that you’re not perfect and you don’t care. Replace your worries about what other people think about you with a preoccupation over your own goals, achievements, and progress!!! You mean more to yourself than you mean to others, it doesn’t matter to you. Don’t speak or act submissively – show to others that you are a wild spirit and you roam this good old world with pride, and will do what you want whether they like it or not. Don’t respect someone’s OPINION if that person is unkind and doesn’t treat you with respect – they don’t deserve it. Don’t try to get back at people, which just sink you down to their level. Ignore people who THINK they know more than you. DONT LAUGH, practice not thinking about the thing that bothers you, and take the criticism and humiliation in that’s the key point, DONT OPPOSE AND DONT GET EVEN, THATS THE KEY TO NOT CARING.
Warnings
Don’t get revenge by cheating yourself. Never tell your friends that you are having problems with your man because they’ll just end up interfering! Don’t respond to the content of their remarks. The less you say, the less likely you are to get drawn into an argument. Is it important? Ummm am Still Pretty, I Got Bigger and Better and not even worth talking to. Beneath me, not even onnnnn my level to begin with.
If you become angry, know that you won’t be able to think calmly, and you’ll probably say or do something you might regret. Words, once spoken, can never be taken back. The point is to show that I really don’t care about you, your nothing to me and your unimportant!!!! It not logic. Won’t even give you the time of day shorty, you’re a Nobody and I don’t care!!! Make sure you stress that you don’t care…..
DON’T laugh. When you see this working, you may be tempted to smile or laugh at the excitement of finally finding something that works. Don’t do it. This’ll just irritate the person and make it worse. Wait until you’re alone, and then enjoy the moment. “Have a pleasant look and be like, it doesn’t matter, and that’s it don’t keep going on and on say it and mean it by looking oh so happy and pleasant about it. A classy person is simply one who consistently exhibits classy behaviour. Focus on your behaviour and attitude rather than your feelings.
Don’t lose yourself when you’re with other friends. Be yourself. Don’t be someone else so other people will like you because, in the end, you end up hurting other people and “losing yourself”.
Indeed, life is short. Don’t let another day go by without taking a chance on happiness. You will never know until you try, so remember to make a move today. It can change or affect the rest of your life, therefore, at the very least, you can try to come out something for your ex love partner during your weekend plans. The Virtue of Romanticism
The Virtue of Romanticism
By Punkerslut
Romanticism: An artistic and intellectual movement originating
in Europe in the late 18th century and characterized by a
heightened interest in nature, emphasis on the individual’s
expression of emotion and imagination, departure from the
attitudes and forms of classicism, and rebellion against
established social rules and conventions.
– Dictionary.com
I remember once seeing a small child at a bus terminal, covered
in a blanket and carrying a piece of luggage that was close to
her size. I looked again. I didn’t know where she was going. I
didn’t bother to ask. But there was something there that maybe a
painting could capture, maybe a song could express, that I saw.
And I looked again.
It is my sole contention in this piece, that the greatest value
of life can be derived from our emotions. To deny what the heart
truly seeks, whether it violates the principles of conventional
society or not, is to deny the liberty of happiness. I contend
that no man is free who cannot live with himself. A prison will
form around his spirit, as he seeks any means of understanding.
To truly live, one must be able to know who they are. Image,
whether it is age or gender, are unimportant in this aspect. The
important part of knowledge, of the wisdom of self, is not what
the world may see when they see you, but how you and your
intimate friends know about how you feel. And in our society,
there is so much inhibition, about recognizing our shame, our
guilt, our happiness, our fears. To speak that your words become
the expression of your soul has been turned into a weakness,
believed by the masses to be the epitome of a soft mind. If a
man were to find his happiness in a lover, in the secret smiles
of watching the movement of one who captures your dreams — if a
man discovers his own peace in this world of ours, then what
true argument can we offer that it was not his own emotions that
granted him this most perfect truth? If a child is kept up at
night, to the hours of the morning, plagued with misery of
memories of abuse of cruelty, would it not be inhumane, to tell
him to ignore it — to tell him to close his eyes to the
daemons, while they increase in size with every passing year?
And I contend this: that to truly live, one must be free with
their emotions; and by this, I mean that a person cannot hide
from what they feel, and true happiness is only accomplished
when they speak all worries and dreams with those they are close
to. It is a tragedy to think that billions of men have died on
this planet, before they could truly live.
I remember one night when I saw a California sunset. The orange
melded with the red, almost searing the sky into peace. I’m not
sure I ever saw anything so beautiful. And I am glad that I
spent that moment with those I consider to be my family. When
one thinks of family, they think of blood relatives, whom they
have to aid and harbor in times of distress, due to social
norms. When I think of family, I think of a group bound not by
blood, but by love, and when I aid or help a brother or sister
in their time of need, I do not do it out of an obligation I
think I am tied to — I do it because they were a shoulder to
cry on, they were the first to stand up and speak when I was
accused of wrong doing. It didn’t matter to them that it may
have been a massive army threatening me, just like it didn’t
matter to me that I had to travel for three days straight so I
could see their faces.
Dreams keep me from forgetting how much I love them.
If a woman was asked who she was, and if she could not answer,
I would have a hard time believing that she was happy. If you
know that you truly love someone or something, there is always
an inhibition or a fear in telling others that you feel this way
– but the greater part of our population has gone even further
in this, by having such a fear or inhibition in even telling
themselves. It is here that society turns our emotion into a
crime, turns our hearts into convicts. By knowing ourselves, our
wants and fears, perhaps our shame or guilt, our love and hate
– by not only knowing, but understanding, the dreams and
nightmares of our soul, the dreaded possibilities that our minds
tumble over every night, the magnificent fantasies that make us
soar with a shy smile — by understanding our emotions, we can
find an honest path to happiness. If we were to engage in an
activity, because it is expected and not because it is our wish,
it is a lie — not only to our close allies, but also to the
greatest individual in our life: ourself. When we lie to
ourselves, so we can fulfill a social obligation, or a family
obligation, it detiorates our soul, it destroys the fundamentals
of happiness. Because in that sort of situation, another day is
another excuse for deceit, another confrontation or encounter is
another chance to hide the lies. A sincere person will find
distress in telling a lie to themself while keeping a clean
conscience. Whatever may be the effort that must be exerted in
portraying an image that society demands, it would take all the
effort in the world — but it is the act of lying to yourself
that weighs heaviest on the soul. Romanticism is about knowing
and understanding the truth of your emotions.
There are so many expectations, so many things that we must do
to uphold our image. Society has already given us a schedule, a
uniform, and a routine. Failure to comply will make people not
trust you, and the idiocy of this is that this is how they
respond once you learned to trust yourself. The sort of
expectation that you are given can vary. Children are expected
to obey and love their parents. There can be hardly any doubt to
the origin of this rule: it was written by adults. Besides that,
children are naturally submissive and needing of parental
affection. There was little objection to this rule. But it
became harder to understand and accept the state of things, when
a child realizes that their parent is doing something wrong,
something cruel, merciless, and brutal. The only crime was
listening and judging for himself, and still the child will be
regarded as a failure of the family for having an alternative
opinion. But imagine if the child had complied with the demands
of the family and spoke lies, that he believed what the father
had done was right — if they forced themselves to believe this
all their life, every day would be draped in the idea that it is
okay to lie to yourself, if it pleases another. Independence is
perhaps the greatest thing to have. To be deprived of it at such
an early age and for so long is a crime. Perhaps it is a lover
and their expectations of another lover, or perhaps it is a
friend and their expectations of another friend. Perhaps someone
is expected to be sexual because of a stereotype, such as their
gender, and perhaps someone is expected to be non-sexual for the
same reasons. If a person follows these expectations to fulfill
the image that others have thrown on them, they will never find
real happiness. They will find that their days are full of
deceit. Such a life is not a real… All that I ask of my
brothers, my sisters — my comrades and my friends — is that
they never deny how they feel, to themselves or those who they
trust; and I ask them this, for their own happiness. Their
suffering is my suffering. Their poverty is my poverty. And my
riches are their riches. Our love belongs to us.
When a lover apologizes to their significant other, when they
are not at fault, just to end the conflict so they can be back
in that blissful affection. They are lying to themselves and
their lover by giving in, but they are honest in one respect –
that they will do whatever it takes to satisfy the person that
means the most to them. I admit it. It may very well be true
that when a lover apologizes to end conflict, when he or she is
not at fault, such a relationship should most likely end anyway.
And when we think of our friends and our family, sometimes it
is hard to say how we feel, what our heart has told us for so
long. Because society keeps telling us that it is a source of
weakness, or a source of depravity. Let society think as it
shall. Social rules should never be a reason for a person to
condemn their lives to sorrow and pain. When I think of my
family, I think of the society of those who have touched my
heart, of the kinship I have formed, of the connection of our
minds. And I remember again…
Dreams keep me from forgetting how much I love them.

Exciting Career and Life as a Security Officer
A security guard or security officer is, usually, a privately-employed person who is employed to protect property and/or people. Usually security guards are uniformed and act to protect property by maintaining a high visibility presence and observing (either directly, through patrols, or by watching alarm systems or video cameras) for signs of crime, fire or disorder; then taking action and/or reporting any incidents to their client, employer and emergency services as appropriate.
The security officer motto is to “detect, deter, observe and report.” Security officers are not normally required to make arrests (but has the authority to make a citizens arrest) or otherwise act as police officers except in some United States jurisdictions in which the security officer is invested with arrest powers like those of a county sheriff. In contrast to the above mentioned motto, a Private Security Officer’s actual primary duty is prevention of crime. Security personnel do enforce company rules and can act to protect lives and property.
In fact, they frequently have a contractual obligation to provide these actions. Security Officers are often trained to perform arrests, operate emergency equipment, perform first aid, CPR, take accurate notes and write effective reports, and perform other tasks as required by the property they are protecting. In case of Armed Security Officers who are also called Private Police Officers, are required to go through additional training mandated by the state for carrying weapons such as baton, firearms, handcuffing, arrest and control and pepper spray trainings.
One major economic justification for security guards is that insurance companies (particularly fire insurance carriers) will give substantial rate discounts to sites which have a 24-hour presence; for a high risk or high value venue, the discount can often exceed the money being spent on its security program. This is because having a security guard on site increases the odds that any fire will be noticed and reported to the local fire department before a total loss occurs. Also, the presence of security guards (particularly in combination with effective security procedures) tends to diminish “shrinkage,” theft, employee misconduct and safety rule violations, property damage, or even sabotage. Many casinos hire security guards to protect the money when transferring it from the casino to the casino’s bank.
Security officers also perform access control at building entrances and vehicle gates by ensuring that employees and visitors display proper passes or identification before entering the facility. Security officers are often called upon to respond to minor emergencies (lost persons, lockouts, dead vehicle batteries, etc.) and to assist in serious emergencies by guiding emergency responders to the scene of the incident and documenting what happened on an incident report. In case of armed security officers, often they are required to respond like police officers until situation is under control and / or proper authorities arrive on the scene.
Although security officers are a distinct type of personnel from either police officers or the military, in the United States a very high proportion of security personnel, including most senior management personnel, are either former or retired members of one or both services. Many security officers who don’t fit this profile (young people in particular) use the job as a springboard into a police career.
Being a private security officer is by no means a lucrative endeavor. Most first line private security personal are paid a low wage which often does not reflect the risks they endure on the job.
Security officers are classified as either of the following
“In-house” or “proprietary” (i.e. employed by the same company or organization they protect, such as a mall, theme park, or casino)
“Contract,” (working for a private security company which protects many locations.)
“Public security” or security police
“Private Patrol Officers” , Patrol gated communities. i.e. Bel-Air Patrol
“Private Police Officers”, also known as Armed Security Officers
Industry terms for various security personnel include: Security , guards, agents, watchmen, officers, safety patrol , Armed Security , Private Police ,Loss Prevention Officers , Bodyguards , Executive Protection Officers . Other job titles in the security industry include dispatcher, receptionist, driver, supervisor, alarm responder, armed security officer, and manager.
Newer terms have been developing within the American security industry that tend to reclassify security personnel into three basic classes, as follows:
Security guards: These personnel, usually uniformed, are primarily responsible for the protection of property only and do not have a responsibility for anything other than basic visibility and reporting. Examples of security guards include night watchmen on construction sites, bank vault guards, and monetary transport guards of money and valuables.
Security officers: These personnel, also usually uniformed, are employed in functions that involve the protection of lives, property and the public peace on private property. Examples of security officers include apartment complex security officers, mall security officers, private patrol officers, and any security personnel that operate in an environment that includes a contractual obligation for the protection of lives and/or the public peace.
Security agents: These personnel, usually without a uniform, are primarily contracted or employed with a focus on apprehension rather than prevention on private property. Examples of security agents include loss prevention agents and personal protection agents (bodyguards).
Security personnel are not police officers but are often confused with them due to similar uniforms and behaviors, especially on private property. Security personnel derive their powers not from the state, as public police officers do, but from a contractual arrangement that give them ‘Agent of the Owner’ powers. This includes a nearly unlimited power to question with the freedom of an absence of probable cause requirements that frequently dog public law enforcement officers. Additionally, as legal precedents have further restrained the traditional police officers’ power of “officer discretion” regarding arrests in the field, requiring a police officer to arrest minor lawbreakers, private security personnel still enjoy such powers of discretion largely due to their private citizen status. Since the laws regarding the limitations of powers generally have to do with public law enforcement, private security is relatively free to utilize non-traditional means to protect and serve their clients’ interests. This does not come without checks, however, as private security personnel do not enjoy the benefit of civil protection, as public law enforcement officers do, and can be sued directly for false arrests and illegal actions if they commit such acts.

There’s Always Enough Time!
I thought I’d begin this article by stimulating your mind with a
little time trivia contest! Are you ready? Alright then, here
goes…..
Question 1 – How many hours a day did Bill Gates have available
to him to conceptualise Microsoft and build it into a multi
Billionaire dollar empire?
a) 23 hours b) 25 hours c) 24 hours
Question 2 – How many days a week did Hilary Swank have to
become an academy award winning actress?
a) 6 days b) 8 days c) 7 days
Question 3 – How many weeks a year did Nelson Mandela have
available to him to free his country from the tyranny of
apartheid?
a) 51 weeks b) 53 weeks c) 52 weeks
* please note the answers are at the bottom of the article.
So how did you go?
Now if you answered all the questions correctly -
congratulations! You have just demonstrated to yourself that you
have the necessary intellect and awareness required to master
your own time!
If you answered any of the questions incorrectly – it’s ok.
Don’t beat yourself up about it. Just re-sit the test before
continuing the article!
We are all given the same 24 hours a day.
One of the most important things to recognise about time is that
each of us has been given the same 24 hours a day to work with.
It doesn’t matter if your one of the world’s great leaders or a
street cleaner, your time allocation remains the same.
Great people do great things in life not because they have more
hours than the rest of us but because they put their time to
good use. Your success in life therefore depends not on how many
hours you have available each day but on how you personally
choose to use your time. You always have enough time to create
an extraordinary life should you choose to.
But I don’t have enough time!
Whenever you hear yourself say that you don’t have enough time,
what you are really saying is that you have ‘chosen’ to do
something else with your time. How you spend your time is your
time is entirely your choice. The big question is, ‘are you
making the choices that will provide you with the maximum amount
of health, peace and happiness?’
Where are you wasting time? If you want to become a master of
your time one of the first things you need to do is work out
where you are currently wasting time. Are you spending too much
time down at the pub or watching TV or doing a job that you
hate? If you are then you have to do something about it. Nothing
will change unless you do.
Try giving up alcohol for month, selling your TV or volunteering
your time to a cause you feel passionate about. You’ll soon be
amazed at what else is possible for your life!
You can’t make time!
It’s important to understand that you can’t make time, you can’t
find time and you certainly can’t buy time. Time just is as it
is.
The issue is never about having enough time, but what you choose
to do with your time. There is always enough time to do the
things that you want to do. You just have to be to committed to
doing them.

Being a Security Guard
In case of Armed Security Officers who are also called Private Police Officers , are required to go through additional training mandated by the state for carrying weapons such as baton , firearms , handcuffing , arrest and control and pepper spray trainings .

Security Careers – a Primer
Private security work makes for a good, stable job with low overhead requirements. You can do this fresh out of high school, and many college students work their way through their higher education. But it’s not for everyone.
You should have some concept of or interest in law enforcement, some degree of a conservative personality, and not be so far gone that you’re going to think wearing a security guard uniform makes you a super-hero. If you like to work night shift (or have to because of school) and like an active job where you’re on your feet a lot, and especially if you have good people skills, you are cut out for security.
The range of private security jobs cover a variety of tastes. Some of the most common posts:
* Industrial security – the most common type. This can range from a night watchman position to manning a gate and checking IDs. If you are a rover, you drive around on patrol, respond to alarms, check access points, and monitor activity. Public contact ranges from little to none, except if you control an access point in the daytime and even then you will only deal with employees of the company and vendors coming and going.
* Retail security – a much more active position. You will almost certainly be in a position of loss prevention. Watching for and detaining shoplifters, possibly preventing vandalism or car theft, and other kinds of patrol will all be in a day’s work.
* Residential security – very low level, you’ll be working apartment complexes and gated communities. Most likely checking passes at a gate and making two rounds or so per night, maybe handing out parking tickets or standing post at the home owner’s meetings. One big part of this work is checking for and preventing residential burglaries.
* Hospitality security – This is really very different from retail security, though the two fit in the same category. A retail hospitality business will be a hotel, casino, amusement park, stadium, or other recreational facility. The most stringent degree of this kind of work, requiring qualifications very close to that of a municipal police officer. Also the most busy; you will have to deal with every scenario you can imagine, and will never have a dull day.
* Civilian security – This actually qualifies as “bodyguard” work. You are hired by a private individual, usually fairly wealthy, to protect that person and their interests specifically. Generally regarded as “cushy” work.
Security work comes in a spectrum ranging from unarmed to light arms to heavy arms. Most work is of the unarmed variety, and you might have just you and your wits to keep you safe. Other positions which allow light arms might include carrying mace, pepper spray, a baton, handcuffs, or possibly a battery-powered stun gun. The fully armed positions will be where you carry a real gun or real shotgun. Whatever the device, you will need to take classes in the safe handling of your armaments and stay certified. The various laws from state to state and the needs of that particular post will determine what you carry.
If you work an unarmed position at night, especially by yourself, it is frequently recommended that you carry a “Mag”-style flashlight. These are the durable heavy metal lights you see in the hands of law enforcement professionals everywhere, and while they aren’t officially a “weapon”, they are hefty enough to come in handy in certain situations.
“Observe and report” is the mantra of most security positions. Under the law, you do not have the same authority as a police officer and you should never forget it. Your job will mainly entail being a professional witness, and secondly to confront people engaged in suspicious activity and telling them to leave, or arresting them and turning them over to the police.
The greatest danger in this line of work is to those who are unsure of their reach of authority. When in doubt, pull back and call the police; you are not the police and you do not have the training nor the authority to be the police. In any situation, seek to de-escalate rather than escalate. Do not turn a conversation into a dispute; do not turn a dispute into a fight. Never take on more than you can handle.
Do by all means behave as a good citizen. The “bad guys” aren’t all you have to worry about; you might also be called on to perform assistance to visitors to the business or to employees of that business. It is important that you maintain a conservative appearance and demeanor; take your job seriously and have a highly professional appearance and you will have an easier time of it. Run around with a pierced nose, a ponytail dyed punker green, and pay more attention to your cell phone or headphones that to your job and you will have no respect and possibly no job.
Training can be anything from a short course supplied by the company to career-school training to occupational programs for training in weapons to police-supplied courses. No matter how small, if you carry any kind of armaments, you will need training in their safe handling and application. The low requirements for entry and the relatively low stress of the job make this an excellent temporary career, and even not that bad of a permanent career.
